TEMPERANCE

 Temperance is a very realistic figure that looks inwardly in contrast to earlier subjects, which often extend outward. The internal tranquility of this figure represents a wholistic awareness of the sanctity of the body as the vessel of the soul. A sense of calm surrounds the figure; one critic has called her beguiling.
