PRODIGAL SON
This figure acknowledges the sculptor’s careful study of Rodin’s Age of Bronze and Michelangelo’s Two Slaves. The maturely perceived anatomy, ravaged by a wasted life, longs for his homeland and roots. The son returns, weary from his travels, and reaches his outstretched arm towards home. For the sculptor, the piece expresses his feelings as a young man returning to the States after his first years studying in Florence, Italy.
